CBO Mentorship Program by Radishare Kenya
Radishare Kenya, with support from donors, fundraising, and internal revenue, launched a CBO Mentorship Program to strengthen Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) across Kenya.
What We Do
Building on our mentorship model from Kaloleni Young Mothers (KYM) CBO, we provide structured guidance to CBO founders and leaders. To demonstrate impact, we mentor Ten CBOs at a time for free over a three-month period before scaling through additional funding.
Who Can Join
CBO founders and leaders seeking tailored mentorship in governance, financial management, resource mobilization, digital transformation, and community engagement.
Program Timeline
January 2025: Pilot mentorship with KYM CBO.
First Cohort (Jan–Mar 2025): 5 CBOs onboarded.
April 2025 & Beyond: Expanding to 10 CBOs per quarter.
How We Deliver Mentorship
The program is fully digital, using platforms like WhatsApp, web-based content, and Zoom for interactive learning. A Special Expert Session will also be scheduled to improve the quality of the mentorship program with key experts in various fields.
Program Expectations
- All CBOs are expected to participate fully and commit to the program for a duration of 3 months.
- CBOs are encouraged to identify a Champion for each module from her members.
- CBOs are encouraged to all participate in the common class involving all other CBOs.
- CBO members are encouraged to utilize the web course provided on Radishare website to learn and unlearn.
- All CBOs are encouraged to pin a featured post on CBO mentorship by Radishare.
- All CBOs are encouraged to feature a page about Radishare on their website.

CBOs in Kenya face challenges such as:
